Our history:
The Worcester Boat Club was founded in 1888 on the storied waters of Lake Quinsigamond, ranked as one of the best rowing venues in North America. Here is a historic photo of the Worcester high school crew rowing out of the Worcester Boat Club on Lake Quinsigamond in 1899!

What we offer you:
Coaching and classes for all ability levels, from beginner to advanced. For beginner, through novice rowers we offer classes on a casual and ongoing basis. For advanced level rowers, we're excited to offer rowing clinics with elite coaches from around the US several times per year.
For beginner rowers:
If you have always wanted to try rowing but feel unsure, we are pleased to welcome even the most inexperienced rower with no previous experience. Our classes focus on developing safe techniques incrementally while providing enough challenge to keep you coming back for more. We offer both Sweep rowing (one oar per person) and Sculling (two oars per person). Our club is inclusive and open to all people in the community. We are here to help you develop foundational skills which will allow you to advance as far as you want to go!
Concerned that you might not be physically fit or young enough to row? Put those concerns aside and come try one class. We're sure you will love it! Many of our club members did not take up rowing until later in life, and one of the only regrets we hear is that they didn't take it up sooner. It's never too late to begin! This a low impact sport that you can participate in for a lifetime. We can't wait to see you at the boathouse!
Worcester Boat Club is associated with US Rowing, the governing body for the sport of rowing in the US.
